Patina & Guilding

Each sculpture is given multiple passes with a series of wire brushes of different coarsnesses to ensure a soft smooth finish. The sculptures are then Guilded with a special mixture of copper as well as other precious and semi precious metals, and minerals to protect the steel. I then carefully hand select a variety of wild foraged foliage from the mountains, including Spruce, Oak, Willow, Maple, and White Birch, which are infused into the tincture to give them their distinctive hue. As these sculptures season outside their patina is “self healing” from minor damage and blemishes.

This railing was guilded a with a Dark Brown patina to accent the knotty alder trim and hickory hardwood flooring throughout the house.

The sculptures and acessories can be infused with copper, brass, and silver to add intricite detail and unique color variation to the Petina.

This Tree has copper, brass, and silver infused into the foliage. It will season in time! (More pics to come!)
